New Jersey, NJ - RN to BSN Nursing School Program

New Jersey RN to BSN education programs are designed for RNs who were licensed via an AND or diploma program and wish to upgrade to a Bachelor’s degree of Nursing in the most efficient way possible. Through online course work and evening classes, nurses can schedule their studies so that they may continue to work while enrolled in the program. In addition, NLN Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exams allow RNs with considerable on-the-job experience to skip courses that cover things they have learned in the workplace already. This means that, in some cases, they can upgrade to a BSN in as little as a year.

To get into an RN to BSN program requires transcripts from previous RN training—excellent grades are an asset—and current workplace recommendations, which is also quite important to a college of nursing. After studies begin, most of the course work covers advanced nursing concepts, methods and theories and also includes elective courses that allow students to pursue particular areas of personal interest. The program is completed once all credits are obtained with a set minimum GPA, which usually amounts to a C average but can be higher in some cases. Registered Nurses leave the program with newfound knowledge and skills that open up a plethora of new opportunities within all fields of health care from the public to the private sphere.
