New Jersey CNA Training

CNA training in New Jersey is regulated by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and is widely available. Training courses consist of a minimum of 90 hours of training, with 50 hours in the classroom and 40 hours of hands-on clinical instruction. New Jersey law requires that any CNA who is hired before, during, or within 12 months of completing their training, will receive 100 percent reimbursement after training is completed and one begins work in a long-term care facility, making initial investment limited to simply the hours required to receive training—an efficient way to enter the field of health care indeed.

Certified Nursing Assistant License in New Jersey

CNA licenses in New Jersey are issued after passing a test administered by Pearson Vue , who also provide practice tests. The two-part test includes a written examination and a skills demonstration component at a cost of $86. Once one has successfully passed the CNA exam and registered with the New Jersey CNA registry, certification must be renewed every two years with proof of at least eight hours of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant over the same time period.
