Wyoming, WY | LPN to RN Nursing School Program

Why Take an LPN to RN Program in Wyoming?

Registered Nurses in Wyoming earn considerably more than Licensed Practical Nurses and have a wider range of responsibilities and career options. They manage LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants, assess patient needs, and create and modify a plan of care based on their own assessments. In short, an LPN to RN program in Wyoming opens the door to wages and work opportunities that are not available to Licensed Practical Nurses.

How to Do a LPN to RN Program in Wyoming

Wyoming LPN to RN programs take around a year to complete and are available in both traditional classroom settings as well as online. They require LPN licensure and usually a year of experience as an LPN and are offered through colleges of nursing throughout the state. The courses build upon previous training, and can also lead to an Associate Degree of Nursing, or ADN.

The main focus of an LPN to RN program is to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination, Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). It costs $200 to take the test through Pearson Vue, and the Wyoming State Board of Nursing requires a $130 application fee and $60 criminal background check and fingerprinting fee. With a pass rate over 85 percent, the test ensures that a nurse is ready for more responsibility, more career options, and much higher wages.
