How to Take an LPN to RN Program in Vermont

When applying to an LPN to RN program in Vermont, schools will usually consider your transcripts from previous training first, but they will also be interested in volunteer work experience and recommendations from current employers. Once accepted, studies last a year and cover complex health issues, nurse management, diagnosis, assessment and treatment, and an elective or two from general studies—all this to prepare Vermont LPNs to become Registered Nurses via the NCLEX-RN examination. Like the NCLEX-PN, the RN version of the test runs through Pearson Vue and costs $200. Application for the exam costs $90 to the Vermont State Board of Nursing. Pass rates on the test exceed 85 percent, and open up a whole new plethora of opportunities as a Vermont LPN takes the next step in their career in health care to become a Registered Nurse.
