Training courses consist of a minimum of 120 hours of training with at least 16 hours dedicated to hands-on clinical training, and can be completed in as little as four weeks. Furthermore, it is possible to receive reimbursement for training and examination costs if employed as a Nurse Aide before, during, or within twelve months of completion of the program, and the Oklahoma State government recently implemented a plan to provide free training for up to 1,000 CNAs per year to extend their skills called “CNA II”, making it very easy and efficient to become a CNA in the state.
CNA License in Oklahoma
CNA licenses in Oklahoma are issued after passing a test administered by D & S Diversified Technologies, LLP. The two-part test includes a written examination (which can also be taken as an oral exam for an additional $10) and a skills demonstration component, which costs $95 to take. Once one has successfully passed the CNA exam and registered with the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry , certification must be renewed every two years with proof of at least eight hours of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant over the same time period.
