How to Do an LPN to BSN in Missouri

Applications to a Missouri LPN to BSN education program require both transcripts from previous training as well as recommendations from employers. Designed for Licensed Practical Nurses with the skills and ambition to upgrade their education and responsibility in the workplace, an LPN to BSN program in Missouri lasts around three years and gives students a Bachelor of Science, Nursing, the highest level of training available to a Registered Nurse. It includes a diverse range of course offerings from nursing research, practice, and theory to many options for specialized study in topics such as health care law, third world health, advanced psychology and a plethora of other offerings.

At the culmination of a Missouri LPN to BSN, students challenge the Registered Nurse licensure examination called the NCLEX-RN. The Missouri Board of Nursing charges a $45 application fee and exam administrators Pearson Vue charge $200 to take the test. This means that students not only graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, but also have the chance to become licensed as a Registered Nurse—a little fewer than 90 percent of students pass the test on their first attempt, although this can vary from program to program.
