How to Do a LPN to RN Program in Maine

It takes an additional year of study to move from an LPN to RN licensure in Maine. Not only do previous grades count on an application, but also volunteer and work experience as well as employer recommendations. Once accepted, courses in topics like math, psychology and sociology complement core nursing courses in both practices and concepts of nursing. The final test, like in an LPN, is the National Council Licensure Examination, Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). It costs $200 to take from Pearson Vue and $75 for application for examination to the Maine State Board of Nursing. One passed, students greatly improve their standing in the workplace and wages.
