How to Do a LPN to RN Program in Idaho

LPN to RN education programs in Idaho last about one year and are available both in a traditional classroom and online. Entry is based largely on grades during Licensed Practical Nurse training, and it necessary to hold a current license as an LPN. In addition, a year’s work experience is necessary to enter most programs.

The year-long LPN to RN education program in Idaho prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination, Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) through continued study in nursing practice and theory, grooming students for positions of greater responsibility. The NCLEX-RN costs $200 to take through Pearson Vue, and also carries a $90 application fee paid to the Idaho Board of Nursing. Pass rates are high—close to 90 percent—and students leave the program prepared to improve their standing in the workplace and earning potential significantly. Because it adds another year to build upon previous knowledge, an LPN to RN can also result in an Associate Degree of Nursing, or AND, meaning new RNs leave an LPN to RN education program with two new distinctions for their resume.
