How to Take an LPN to RN Program in Rhode Island

When applying to an LPN to RN program in Rhode Island, a student must provide both transcripts from their previous training as an LPN and a recommendation from their current employer. And once enrolled, they complete a year of studies that build upon prior knowledge to include nurse management, more advanced care strategies and patient evaluation and treatment, as well as a few courses in general arts and sciences to expand their knowledge of broader social and physiological processes.

A Rhode Island LPN to RN education program culminates with the NCLEX-RN, which, like the NCLEX-PN, costs $200 to take via Pearson Vue and also requires proof of course completion and subsequent licensure application to the Rhode Island Board of Nurse Registration and Nursing Education. The application costs $130 and a nurse receives their license once passing the test, as is the case for upwards of ninety percent of students who complete an LPN to RN program. Students then re-enter the work force as part of the largest group of health care professionals in Rhode Island, and with the opportunity for a dynamic range of new career opportunities and much higher wages.
