How to Take an LPN to RN Program in Oregon

There are two things that a nursing school in Oregon typically considers when evaluating applications for a LPN to RN program: GPA in previous training and recommendations from current employers. If accepted, as is only the case for the better half of applicants, course work focuses upon introducing nurses to bigger-picture planning processes and nurse management, advanced care strategies, and some general studies in the liberal arts and sciences. It takes a year of studies before they can take the NCLEX-RN, which, like the NCLEX-PN, costs $200 to take via Pearson Vue, requires application to the Oregon State Board of Nursing at a cost of $160, and sees high success rates—close to 85 percent. Only once the test has been passed are students qualified to begin work as an Oregon Registered Nurse, and become part of the dynamic world of Registered Nursing.
