CNA training in North Carolina is regulated by The Center for Aide Regulation and Education , a subdivision of the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. Training courses consist of the federally established minimum of 75 hours of training, with at least 16 hours in the classroom and 16 hours of hands-on clinical instruction, and can be completed in as little as two weeks. In addition, it is possible to have a long-term care facility pay for training with commitment to stay with the facility for a pre-determined period of time after training is complete.
CNA License in North Carolina
CNA licenses in North Carolina are issued after passing a test administered by Pearson Vue , who also provides practice tests and other resources for prospective and current CNAs. In conjunction with the North Carolina government, the two-part test includes a written examination and a skills demonstration component at a cost of $96. Once one has successfully passed the CNA exam and registered with the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry , certification must be renewed every two years with proof of at least eight hours of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant over the same time period.
