Minnesota, MN - RN to BSN Nursing School Programs

Pursuing an RN to BSN education program in Minnesota upgrades a currently working RNs education without having to leave the work force. This is made possible through evening and online course offerings and NLN Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exams, which analyze current knowledge and ability and let students skip the courses which cover skills and knowledge they have already acquired through work experience and on the job training.

Application to an RN to BSN program is competitive based upon past grades, workplace recommendations, and volunteer experience. Once accepted, courses focus on nursing practice, research and theory at a more advanced level. In addition, courses in sociology, psychology, pharmacology and beyond give students a breadth of perspective as they move towards graduation. There is no final test, but usually a minimum graduating GPA, which can be as low as a C average, or as high as a B average—it varies by program. Once completed, students leave with a broader range of knowledge and perspective on nursing to go with the workplace skills they already hold, opening up a range of new work opportunities and providing a new perspective to their current occupational setting.
