How to Do an LPN to BSN in Minnesota

An LPN to BSN program in Minnesota lasts around three years if undertaken full time. The first step is being accepted into a college or university for general studies. Then, one applies directly to the college of nursing within that school, with applications evaluated on previous grades during LPN training, the recommendations of workplace superiors, and any volunteer experience. Once accepted, a diverse range of course offerings focus on nursing practice, theory and research. In addition, electives such as developmental psychology and sociology of health, as well as targeted nursing classes in specialized topics like third world development are available. And throughout the LPN to BSN program, students are well prepared to take the RN licensure examination: the NCLEX-RN, at a cost of $200 to exam administrators Pearson Vue and an additional $50 application fee paid to the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Once the test has been passed, students acquire a license to practice as a Registered Nurse, a Bachelor’s degree, and a depth and breadth of knowledge that gives them greatly increased work opportunities and earning potential.
