There are many job opportunities for CNAs in the state of Alabama, from home care to hospital positions. With a growing population the state is also experiencing rapid growth in health care, and job prospects for Certified Nurse Assistants will remain excellent in the coming years. While hospitals and clinics are the primary employers of CNAs in Alabama, home health care is on the rise as well, which provides new Certified Nursing Assistants with a variety of options for employment. Nursing Assistants in the state can expect to be paid between $9 and $11 an hour plus benefits, such as paid vacations and holidays, in a full-time position. Indeed, CNA jobs in Alabama provide a high level of financial security and can be a rewarding and diverse occupation. Alabama CNA Training

Schools that offer CNA programs are plentiful, and courses are typically affordable, costing as little as $700 . For example, and taking anywhere from 10 weeks to one semester to complete. CNA courses in Alabama involve 120 hours of training, including 40 hours of supervised clinical experience.

CNA License in Alabama

Licensing for Certified Nursing Assistants is regulated by the Alabama Department of Public Health (http://www.adph.org/). Becoming a CNA in Alabama does not require a high school diploma or GED, but some programs do require one for entry. Courses are provided by the Red Cross, community colleges, and Easter Seals. Additionally, there are some high schools in Alabama that allow students to take CNA courses prior to graduation.
Once training is complete, a CNA must pass the National Nurse Aide Acceptance Program exam within 24 months of graduating from a training program before beginning to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Alabama.
